Growing up, I ran around the world looking for things to climb up and rocks to look under, trying to find salamanders, bugs, or anything interesting to my youthful mind. When not outside, the little bit of television I was allowed to watch mainly ended up being Animal Planet.
As I grew up, I never lost my love of nature, when I joined the Coast Guard in 2009, I tried to focus my efforts on aiding the environment. I graduated with a degree in Marine Biology and Chemistry, and my active duty time was spent enforcing fisheries regulations, chasing drug runners, and cleaning up oil spills.
It was only after I separated from the military did I fall in love with photography, and as I traveled the world, I wanted to share the images and scenes I was seeing with my family. The only reason I started an Instagram was to follow my brother's travels through Australia, and the only reason I started posting was to let my Mom know I was still alive!
Now I am trying to make one of my passions a more sustainable practice for myself, and share my images and experiences to whomever might also enjoy them.
Thank you for visiting my page, I hope you enjoy my photography!
Cheers,
Dick Nagel
